Description

Color advertising postcard with Photo of Banfield General Store in the snow. Caption on back: THE BANFIELD GENERAL STORE 13027 Banfield Road, Battle Creek, Michigan. This scene was taken in 1963 -- the coldest winter in 50 years. This store is located in the center of an area of well over 2,000 well stocked lakes. It has served a large tourist trade as well as hunters, fishermen and local residents for nearly 100 years. In the early days the store was a general store, coach stop, mortuary and Post Office. Many travelers stopped off to stay overnight in the spacious 10 room house attached to the store. #15732
